This is the view from the Zhengbeilou Tower on The Great Wall. It is considered by many to be the most beautiful spot along the 5,500 mile Wall. The “easiest” way to get here is via the restored section of Mutianyu. However, Zhengbeilou Tower isn’t a part of Mutianyu. It is part of the unrestored section of Jiankou. If you are coming from Mutianyu, it is about another 10 towers to the west beyond Mutianyu’s last official tower. You can also come up from the Xizhazi Village. This is the way my wife and I came (extensive research is needed as parts of the trail are dangerous). It is the shorter option, but again, it has many challenges.
I posted two images because I can’t choose which one I like better. I lean towards the first one as I like the composition more, but the second speaks to the scale of The Great Wall. You can see the Wall on top of the peak, reaching up through the clouds. The Wall then continues on into the mountains in the far right-hand corner.
