CottonWood Pass

This photo was taken just to the east of Cottonwood Pass in Colorado, along Gunnison County Road 209. Cottonwood Pass’ elevation is 12,126 feet and is part of the Continental Divide. It is a seasonal road, usually closing down in October and reopening in May. It is east of the small mountain town of Buena Vista, Colorado. The Pass is surrounded by mostly National Forest making for great remote camping during the summer.
