Rocky Mountain National Park is one of my favorite places to hike. Although many of the short trails are often crowded, it can be easy to find solitude in the scenic mountainous terrain. I believe it has some of the best overnight backpacking in the entire National Park system.
This is Mills Lake. It is a good day hike for anyone if taken at a slow pace. The terrain on the path is steep in places, but the lake’s view is worth the effort. The lake is a nice destination hike or can be a good lunch spot on your way to Black Lake.
