A rather curious, plucky duck enjoys a beautiful summer day along the edge of Bierstadt Lake inside Rocky Mountain National Park. This is one of my favorite lakes inside the park and it is a fairly easy hike as hikes go in the mountainous park.
The easiest way to access the lake is to hike down from the Bear Lake area. After you have spent some time enjoying the gorgeous views, continue past the lake and hike down to the Bierstadt Lake Trailhead parking area. This area is steep so doing the trail in reverse will make it a much more strenuous trip. Once at the Bierstadt parking area you can then catch the bus back up to the Bear Lake area. The total length of the trail is about 2 miles.
