Yonghe Lamasery, often refered to as the Lama Temple, is located on the northeast side of Beijing, China. According to travelchinaguide.com, the temple was initially built during the Qing Dynasty in 1694 and was the home of Prince Yongzheng. In 1744 the palace became a lamasery.

Today it is still an active lamasery and can be visited for a fee by anyone. I found it to be extremely crowded much like every other place in Beijing, but it is a beautiful complex with ornate buildings and manicured grounds.
