This happy looking creature is known as a Common Eland. They are found in Africa. The Eland is apart of the antelope family. I came across this smiley individual not while on an African safari, but rather while visiting family in Tennessee. The Tennessee Safari Park located on the western side of the state is a little known oasis of African creatures. The animals have a massive amount of land to roam free. Visitors are able to tour the park in their own vehicles driving slowly through the open terrain amongst the animals. You are even allowed to feed the creatures. This is the next best thing to being on safari in Africa.
