This is one of many mining cabins found along the “road” to Como Lake in Colorado. This is the most dangerous “road” in Colorado. You have to have a high clearance 4×4 to even attempt this drive and even then you had better be right with God because roll overs happen.
These cabins were home to the pioneers who braved the Colorado winters for the chance at gold during the Colorado Gold Rush in the late 1800s. It is hard to fathom people living in these kinds of conditions at 9,000 – 10,000 feet in the middle of winter.
