I found this little guy on the old abandoned road to Lone Star Geyser in Yellowstone National Park. This image was shot using a fairly wide-angle lens. How close this looks is how close I actually was. The toad didn’t seem too concerned with my being up in his face. I wasn’t totally sure he was alive until he decided that he’d had enough of me and hopped a few feet away. I am a fan of encounters with nature on the large and small-scale. Yellowstone is full of these opportunities.
