This is what I envisioned all of the West looking like when I was a child. Rough, exposed red rocks shooting up out of a desolate land.
This is at the end of the Island in the Sky area of Canyonlands National Park. The rock formation standing alone is known as the Candlestick Butte. Beyond that you can barely make out the Green River. The Green and the Colorado Rivers cut into the land exposing the strong red earth and creating this stunning landscape.
