This gorgeous boardwalk lies at the edge of the inhabited world. At least, this was one of the last places on the planet to be explored that is now inhabited, albeit a very small population.
My wife and I spent most of the day driving along New Zealand’s Highway 6 over Haast Pass on the South Island. We arrived at the coast just in time to see the sun set over the Tasman Sea. We had this entire beach to ourselves. We climbed up the watch tower and enjoyed the sunset from here before heading out onto the driftwood covered beach to take a short stroll in the sand. It was a great end to a pretty spectacular day of driving through the mountains.
