Chamaenerion Angustifolium

Chamaenerion Angustifolium

This is the Chamaenerion Angustifolium… if you know how to pronounce that correctly, I am impressed. The more common name is Fireweed flower. These flowers are known as fireweeds not because of their fiery red stem, but because they are often the first plant to repopulate an area after a forest fire. I found this one on the edge of Turquoise Lake high in Rocky Mountains near Beaver Creek, Colorado.Lake Fireweed

Miss you Karen. Wish I had been able to make it earlier this year… hopefully soon. You are always welcome here.
