New Zealand is known to be one of greenest places on the planet. I don’t mean it is environmentally friendly, although that is probably true too, but a literal natural green. Most of its notoriety for it greenishness is due to its lush rolling green hills (you know, Hobbiton—Lord of the Rings). That is the North Island, but the South Island is green as well.
It gets a massive amount of rainfall and this moss covers a massive amount of Beech trees all along the western coast. This is the color of the Fjordlands and of course the famous Milford Sound. It is stunning to see an entire dense forests covered in this delicate looking adornment.
