What’s not to love about a place where Zebras stand in the middle of the road and stop traffic… not that there’s much traffic here. I found this Zebra crossing the worn down dusty road in the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania. This is a safari park inside a giant extinct volcanic caldera. It is perhaps the coolest safari park in the world! There are no fences to keep the animals in nor any to keep them from leaving, but the park doesn’t see much migration because of the caldera’s high walls.
Just in case you are wondering, those pink things behind the SUV on the lake are in fact flamingoes. Flamingoes do migrate in and out of the park, but they fly so they got it easier than the creatures that have to climb up the natural walls of the volcanic crater.
