I found these berries along the Highline Trail near the Granite Park Chalet in Glacier National Park. I can’t recommend the Highline Trail enough. If you don’t have a fear of heights (exposure to steep drop offs) and love beautiful mountain scenery with the occasional mountain goat blocking your path than you will love the Highline Trail.
The north wall of Mount Gould can be seen through the jagged peaks. The ridge seen is the Great Continental Divide. Unlike most of the lower 48 states, where the water on the west flows to the Pacific and the water on the East flows into the Gulf of Mexico, the water that falls on the East side here flows Northeast into the Hudson Bay. Only a small section of Montana does this. There are also sections of North Dakota and Minnesota that flow into the Hudson Bay as well. This continental divide is known as the Laurentian Divide.
