The Glen After Dark

The Glen After Dark

Colorado Springs was founded by General William Jackson Palmer after the Civil War. He built a castle for his family home and called the land at the mouth of Queen’s Canyon (named after his wife) Glen Eyrie. Today the family home and property is a stunningly beautiful conference center that shares much of the same amazing type of red rock formations as the adjacent Garden of the Gods park. The Glen Eyrie property is breathtaking during the light of day, but add some snow and lights and the Glen after dark resembles the mythical land of Narnia from the C.S. Lewis books. It has a beauty that is hard to beat and given that creatures like big horn sheep, bears, and mountain lions roam freely in this area it truly resembles something straight out of the Narnia series.
