I wrote last month about how much I like the hike to Delicate Arch inside Arches National Park. The angle seen here is a bit harder to capture. A thunderstorm rolled through and caused my wife and I too have to abandon our first attempt to make it up the trail, but it was a blessing in disguise. It left this reflective pool of water in the “bowl” below the beautiful rock formation.
This is a vantage point that adds an additional level of difficulty to the hike. At one point, you’ll find yourself hugging a rock with your footing at a steep angle and realizing that if you slip, while it wouldn’t kill you, it would be a long and painful trip out. However, the reflection that awaited me was too tempting and worth the extra effort/risk. That said, I don’t think I would take this path again.
